English Literature Arts

We have seen firsthand the level scholars are not reaching with both current reading and writing comprehension. We intend to focus on core writing structures through creative writing practices and art project-based assignments. We will also develop integrated reading and public speaking programs that will encourage scholars to imagine and discover a wide range of writings by authors and poets from different eras. Additionally, we will highlight and celebrate diverse styles of writing, including the historical importance of writing and record keeping. We will concentrate on college bound pathways; teaching scholars how to write personal statements, essays, and bios for their future endeavors.
